Martine & Cyrille

WHERE WE COME FROM...

Martine was born in eastern France, near the beautiful towns of Metz and Nancy in Lorraine.
Cyrille comes from western France, near Angers in Loire valley.
Both got university degrees.
We have been living in Paris and suburbs for over 30 years when we met 20 years ago. In the last period we lived near Montmartre in a cosy flat with antiques.

We are in our early sixties with perfect health and physical condition. Both of us are non-smokers.

In her previous life, Martine was a consultant for small businesses and private clients in financing, loans, tax savings...
Cyrille worked as department manager and consultant in finance in various banks, one of which you certainly know, Lehman Brothers. Hopefully, he quit many years before it collapsed in 2008!!!

Cyrille is pretty fluent in English and Martine deals with it. She also has some knowledge of German language.


OUR EXPERIENCE IN HOUSE SITTING...

We started house sitting in 2015 for family, friends and neighbours and a year after we wished to improve the experience with owners. Now we have done more than a dozen different properties, somewhere we have been trusted enough to come again... many times and for extended periods, and others abroad. Details at bottom of page.

Among our experiences, we took in charge various properties, some large and old, with swimming-pool and cottages, for French and foreign owners. Durations went up to 10 weeks.
We had responsibility of large and small dogs with very different characters and energy (Airedale Terrier, Australian Shepherd, Beauceron, Border Collie, Chihuahua, Cocker, Golden Retriever, Labrador, Maltese, Shi Tzu, Yorkshire...), cats (Chartreux, European, Persian...), chickens (...17 at once! Of different species), tortoise, guinea pigs, fish and goats. Details at bottom of page...again !
If necessary, no problem to go to the vet for your beloved pets or animals.

Martine used to have, and generally “prefers”, dogs.
Cyrille is born with, and generally “prefers”, cats.
But in fact these “preferences” are minor as "pet-sonnality" is far more important, say, like with human beings.

Very careful of your belongings, we will ensure their security and safety. When needed, we will use them as our own, so be confident to find everything as you left it.

Your house will be taken care of (small maintenance, mail, rubbish disposal, swimming pool maintenance...) and also plants and garden (watering, cleaning, lawn mowing…).


OUR VALUES AND TASTES...

We are very reliable, trustworthy, responsible, autonomous and complementary.

We enjoy visiting. France is pretty well known to us, and we are used to travelling abroad and, as tourists or visiting friends, we went to many countries in Europe and also Bali, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, USA etc...
We like walking.
Martine will be more than happy to visit local markets and taste local recipes.
Both of us like reading.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR...

We are involved in house sitting for various reasons:

- Meet people and make new friends
- Visit new regions and countries
- Have a new vision of life, a new experience. To remain young, ha!
- Take care of friendly pets: dogs and cats of course, but we also had fish, turtles, even goats...

Goal is also to develop a network of good friends, wherever we can go.

We prefer medium or long term durations but depending on location and travel conditions -we have a car for France and Europe- it may be for a few days.


ALSO...

Martine is a good cook (French and international recipes), and will be delighted to prepare a meal when you come back home.
She also knows about delicate linen cleaning and fragile tableware.

Cyrille is fine with computers and communicates on a regular basis, and can help if needed, as a friend would do.
He also has some knowledge about gardening, pool maintenance, lawn mowing including sit-on mower.

HOUSE-SITS WITH NOMADOR

French alps : 2 weeks with a dog (Border Collie). Flat and terrace with mountain view.
Provence : 3 times (2 to 4weeks) with a dog (Shi Tzu). "Bastide" with swimming-pool and holiday cottages.
Drôme provençale : 2 times (1 month each) with a dog (Airedale Terrier). Town villa with swimming-pool.
Normandy : 1 month with a cat and vegetable garden. Villa.
Brittany : 2.5 months with two cats (Persian and Chartreux). Architect’s house.

Camargue : 3 times (1 to 3 weeks) with three cats. 18th century house inside the ramparts of Aigues-Mortes.
