Needs and animals

Pet-sitting | 2 Dogs | 3 Cats | Farm animals

Our 2 dogs are a bundle of fun and energy. Loulou is 10 and tries really hard to keep up with Nala who is 3. Both are described as Labrador on their French paperwork, however, when you meet them, you will see that this is not quite accurate. Harvey, our cat, is actually female, and named after the TV character Harvey from the TV series Suits because of her character. Our 2 other cats are brother and sister, sugar and spice. New to our animal house are grace and Frankie, 2 chickens who are very friendly and are good layers. There’s nothing like a fresh organic egg. All 5 love cuddles, love and spending time with you.

House

Our welcoming house is waiting for you in the heart of Normandy. It is in the countryside with local walks for the dogs, but only 5 minutes from the town of Saint Lo. It has a beautiful garden and terrace, ideal for sitting, sipping aperitifs. There is plenty of garden for the dogs to run around in and it is completely secure. The famous D Day beaches and Le Mont St Michel are within travelling distance to visit.

Dale has a huge collection of military history books as he works as a Battlefield guide. These would be at your disposal during your stay. His knowledge is useful for giving you tips on places to visit ( without leaving the dogs for too long ).

Our home is very welcoming, light and spacious. It’s a typical sous sol type house with the main house built on top of the garage area. We have transformed some of this into a games room which you can enjoy. Our garden is large but the animals love it. We have a south facing terrace with seating and BBQ for you to enjoy, especially during the warmer days. Town, and shopping is only 10 minutes away, with a supermarket just 5 minutes to get to. We have nice neighbours ( who only speak French ) but are always pleasant.

We really enjoyed our stay at Debbie & Dale’s home near St Lô in Normandy. Filou and Nala (dogs) as well as Harvey (cat) are very affectionate - Gary (cat) is much more independent!! The home is very comfortable and the south facing terrace has a lovely outlook and very pleasant to sit in the evenings. The location is rural but surprisingly close to all the amenities in St Lô. Debbie and Dale gave us excellent instructions on house and animal care as well as some great suggestions on nearby attractions and restaurants.
