We are a reliable and non-smoking couple (Caroline and Felix) with a daughter (Kaia, turns 4 in May) living in the beautiful southern german town of Freiburg. We are located very close to the french as well as swiss border.

I work as a psychologist, assessing children with speech delays. I also coach mums how to live self-care and how to navigate matrescence. Felix is a biologist and is working for a non profit organization responsible for a sustainability label for german wine. Kaia is a funny, cheerful animal lover. She still talks about our last four housesits and is fascinated by all the animals we met. She learnt to approach cats carefully and let them smell at her hand first. Towards new situations she is a little reserved and observing in the beginning. Kaia is a calm child who is careful with things around her. She listens very well and is very understanding so we can assure you that your belonging will stay safe.
We want to give Kaia the possibility to discover her surroundings and do not usually do too many long day trips. She is very happy at home and enjoys to read a book or do a jigsaw, so we will be around the house often and can take care of your pets and the house well.

I was living in New Zealand several years ago and discovered housesitting there. I had the pleasure to get to know beautiful animals (two nice cats and many colourful fish; a timid cat that enjoyed many cuddles after a few days; and a cute dog) and their friendly owners and enjoyed my time thoroughly. Afterwards I housesitted two gorgeous cats and several fish in the flat of a colleague in Freiburg twice as well as another sit with a cuddly cat and some chickens. Felix and I both had pets while growing up (dog, bunny, mice, budgie, hamster), I was riding horses for several years and had a foster pony.

The three of us had four fantastic housesitting experiences so far (two times at the same place in France, one in south of france and once in Switzerland). In France, all of us enjoyed caring for three cats (two of them were kittens) and two hens. Kaia approached the cats and hens carefully, cuddled them, and was also allowed to give them treats (with our help). She also initiated playing with them from time to time. We were lucky enough to return to this lovely house the following year to see the cats grow up, to spend some time with the wonderful houseowners and enjoyed it again very much. Kaia is still excited when we show her pictures of the beautiful and charming cats and is regularly talking about them. In Switzerland, we were lucky to look after two charming cats, six joyful chickens and two friendly rabbits. And then we enjoyed to get to know an older Cuddly dog (who needed medication), and two independent but loving cats (one of them was older and needed regular medication as well) as well as two sheep and several chickens.

We would love to continue showing Kaia how to take good care of animals and will definitely enjoy spending time and cuddling them too!
